Overview

Path of Ahimsa

Jainism, one of the world’s oldest religions, began in the Indian subcontinent around the 6th century BCE. Before the 1947 Partition, Jain communities in present-day Pakistan—especially in Sindh and Punjab—contributed greatly to trade, education, and religious life.

Their legacy lives on in historic temples like the Gori Temple (1375 CE) and Bhodesar Temple in Nagarparkar, known for stunning marble carvings and Rajput-Gujarati architecture. Cities like Lahore and Rawalpindi also housed Jain shrines, including the Jain Mandir in Lahore’s Anarkali area.

Though many sites were abandoned post-Partition, recent preservation efforts—such as the restoration of Lahore’s Jain Mandir—highlight Pakistan’s commitment to honoring its diverse heritage.

Join JAIYANA Travel & Tourism on a unique journey to explore Pakistan’s Jain landmarks—where history, faith, and culture come alive.
